What happens to your email address

Who holds it

Roveya Video runs this waiting list and decides what happens to the address you leave here. Write to privacy@roveya.video about anything on this page — it is a mailbox a person reads, not a form, and the same address handles every request below.

What we store

Three fields, written the moment you press the button:

• The email address you typed.
• Which language this page was in — English, Russian or Spanish — so that we write to you in it.
• The date and time you joined.

What we do not store

No cookies are set by this page, and there is no analytics script, no tracking pixel and no advertising tag on it. If you choose a language, that choice is kept in your own browser and is never sent to us — which is why there is no consent banner to click away.

We do not keep your IP address. The form posts from your browser straight to our database, so nothing about the request is logged on our side beyond the three fields above. Cloudflare, which serves this page, sees the ordinary metadata of any web request — see “Who else is involved”.

Why, and what we will send you

We use the address to run a waiting list for a closed beta. Concretely, that is: an invitation on the day the beta opens for you, and occasional notes while we build it — what changed, what works, what we got wrong. That is a small number of messages, and it is more than one.

Every message carries an unsubscribe link that works in one click. Unsubscribing removes you from the list entirely; it is not a preference we keep on file.

We do not sell, rent, share or hand the list to anybody for their own marketing, and we do not use it to advertise anything that is not Roveya Video.

The lawful basis is your consent — the box you tick after typing your address, which is the only thing that sends it. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it: the unsubscribe link, or one line to the address above.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe, or 24 months from the day you joined, whichever comes first. If the beta has not opened by then we will ask before keeping the address longer, rather than keeping it quietly.

When an address is deleted it is deleted from the live database. Backups age out on their own schedule, which is measured in weeks rather than months.

Who else is involved

The list is stored in a Postgres database hosted by Supabase, which processes it on our instructions and for no purpose of its own. The key this page carries can only add a row to that list: it cannot read one back, and neither can anybody who copies it out of this page.

This page itself is served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare sees the metadata of the request that fetched it — your IP address, the page you asked for, your browser’s user agent — as any host of any website does. Your email address does not pass through Cloudflare: the form posts directly to the database.

We have not yet chosen a provider for sending the mail. When we do, this notice will name it here before the first message is sent.

What you can ask for

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, have it corrected, have it deleted, have it sent to you in a portable form, or object to us holding it at all. For a list of this shape that is a short conversation, and one message to the address above starts it. We answer within 30 days and normally the same week.

If you are in the EU, the UK or the EEA and you think we have handled this badly, you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first, but that right does not depend on it.

A note on who this is for

The beta is not for children. Please do not leave an address here if you are under 16.

If this changes

A change that affects what we do with your address will be announced in the mail we send, not only by editing this page quietly. The date at the top says when it was last touched.
